Our client, a fast growing insurance business, is seeking a Senior Legal Counsel to join their legal team. The role will be part of a high-performing, close knit team that get involved with a wide range of legal work. The position will report to the General Counsel and will have the potential for management responsibilities. The role can be based remotely with only very occasional travel to the office.

Key responsibilities:

  • Provide expert legal advice and support to the business with a particular focus on personal lines insurance products.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of contracts, policy documents and TOBAs.
  • Advise on regulatory compliance, consumer protection, and data privacy issues.
  • Support the legal team on broader corporate, commercial, IP and data protection matters.
  • Potential to take on management responsibilities if that was something the successful applicant wanted to do

Experience requirements:

  • Qualified lawyer with 5+ years post-qualification experience
  • Previous experience with the insurance sector
  • Strong understanding of FCA regulations and insurance distribution rules
  • Ideally previous experience working in an in-house environment
  • Exceptional drafting, negotiation, and communication skills
