Senior Legal Assistant / Legal Support Assistant – Family / Private Client

Bristol

Location: Bristol (Hybrid – 3 days office / 2 days remote)

TSR Legal are delighted to be working with a forward-thinking law firm in North Bristol, who are seeking a Senior Legal Assistant to join their team.

This opportunity has arisen due to internal progression, reflecting the firm’s strong commitment to developing and promoting its people. As such, the firm is keen to appoint someone who is looking to build a long-term career, demonstrate loyalty to the firm, and grow with the role over time.

The firm will also consider candidates from Legal PA or Legal Support Assistant backgrounds, provided they bring strong organisational skills, a proactive mindset, and a genuine interest in Family / Private Client work.

Role Purpose

To provide high-level legal and administrative support to fee earners within the team, ensuring efficient case management, excellent client care, and smooth day-to-day operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Preparing, formatting, proofreading and managing legal documents, correspondence and court forms
  • Maintaining accurate and compliant case files in line with AML and GDPR requirements
  • Acting as a key point of contact for clients, handling queries professionally and arranging appointments
  • Liaising with external parties including courts, experts and intermediaries to support case progression
  • Assisting with letters of engagement and client onboarding processes
  • Supporting business development activities, including firm events and networking initiatives
  • Confident use of legal technology, including Microsoft Office, Adobe and case management systems

Preferred Experience (Desirable, Not Essential)

  • Experience using Clio or similar case management systems
  • Use of BundleDocs
  • Confidence with e-filing court documents
  • Experience with social media platforms (LinkedIn, Instagram) and an interest in using AI tools

Experience Required

  • Previous experience as a Legal Assistant, Legal PA or Legal Support Assistant
  • Exposure to Private Client work is advantageous (Wills, Probate, Estate Administration, Contentious Probate, Family, etc.)
  • Strong client-facing skills with empathy, professionalism and discretion
