We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Learning Disability Nurse to join our Unscheduled Care team at HMP Garth, a Category B prison in Lancashire with a capacity of about 800 male inmates. This role is based primarily in the Healthcare Department but may involve ward work as required.
Key responsibilities include responding to the Mental Health Team Manager’s directives, managing a caseload of adults with learning disabilities and challenging behaviour, and working within the criminal justice setting to provide person‑centred care. You will assess, plan and coordinate positive non‑aversive behavioural approaches in partnership with the multi‑disciplinary team.
Applicants must have a legal right to work in the UK. The role requires an additional vetting and security check, and a Disclosure and Barring Service check pursuant to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975.
