A leading law firm in Leeds is seeking a Senior Associate (4+ PQE) to join their Banking Practice Group. In this role, you will support various banking transactions, including Corporate and Leverage Finance as well as Real Estate Finance. The ideal candidate will work collaboratively, engage in business development initiatives, and gain diverse experience in a supportive work environment. Our national Banking Practice Group covers corporate / leverage finance, real estate finance, and debt capital markets. We are looking to build out our practice across both Leeds and Manchester at various levels. Key Areas Of Focus For The Team Include Corporate and Leverage Finance - we have a wide-ranging practice and represent private equity sponsors, corporate borrowers and lenders (both banks and private capital providers). We advise on a full range of leveraged situations, M&A, corporate finance and refinancing, asset based lending, group re-organisations and debt capital markets work. We work closely with our highly regarded Corporate, Tax, Restructuring and Private Equity teams, and have developed very strong working relationships with a number of well-known and active debt and corporate finance advisers and other law firms active in these markets. Real Estate Finance - we have one of the leading REF practices in the market, acting for many of the major domestic and international banks as well as alternative lenders and corporate borrowers, on major bilateral, syndicated and structured transactions, and in developing their products. We work closely with our Real Estate, Construction, Corporate, Tax and international teams. This comprehensive network combined with our international finance capability means we are able to advise clients on some of the most significant Real Estate Finance deals in the market Project and Infrastructure Finance - we advise international sponsors, developers and banks in UK finance transactions across transport and social infrastructure, renewables and emerging/convergence assets such as battery storage and electric vehicles. We typically work alongside our Corporate, Construction, Disputes, Regulatory, Planning and Real Estate teams in the relevant jurisdiction or region. Our work spans all stages of the project lifecycle including bid submission, construction, operation, hand-back and repowering.
We have an opportunity for a Senior Associate (4+ PQE) to join the national Banking Practice Group in Leeds to support a broad range of banking transactions across Corporate/Leverage, Real Estate Finance. The candidate will therefore gain experience of working with private equity sponsors, corporates, banks and funds. The role will involve working on a wide range of finance matters and given the breadth of our practice, the candidate will need to have the ability and desire to turn their hand to a range of work. We believe that the variety and experience on offer across a number of specialisms is a positive differentiator. Team members of all levels are expected to be engaged in business development activities, including organising and attending larger set-piece marketing events as well as more ad hoc / opportunistic meetings. We are looking for candidates who want to work in a highly collaborative and non-hierarchical environment, and who are motivated by delivering a great service for our clients whilst helping to develop business and provide input on training, marketing, knowledge management and other non-transactional activities.
