Qualifications

Senior Land & Estates Surveyor – Glasgow, United Kingdom

Salary: £57,600 per annum + up to 15% bonus; Health cover; Flexible & hybrid working. Closing date: 21st January 2026.

About the role

The ScottishPower Renewables (SPR) Senior Land and Estates Surveyor is responsible for managing a portfolio of work in the expanding SPR onshore projects, including wind, wind repower, BESS and solar opportunities. Services cover the capture of land from inception to completion in line with project requirements, including HOT გაგრძელევით, Acquisitions, Land Referencing, Estates Management & Rentals and Landowner Relationship Management.

What you’ll be doing
  • Land Rights Negotiation: lead and manage negotiations for Heads of Terms and land rights documents with landowners and their representatives. Ensure HOTs templates are up to date.
  • Collaboration: collaborate with Legal and Project teams to secure necessary rights.
  • Legal Agreement Oversight: review, create, and update legal agreements to ensure suitability and compliance.
  • Valuation & Specialist Advice: provide land rights valuations and expert input on compulsory purchase, land strategy, and technical rights.
  • Consistency & Risk Management: maintain consistency across projects, update templates, and report deviations. Identify and advise on risks, offering solutions where appropriate.
  • Land KPIs: act as a key project team member, ensuring land requirements are met on time. Identify shortfalls, mitigation and remedies, and pursue solutions as required. Drive land strategies for more complex projects.
  • JV Oversight: ensure that rights and obligations are fully understood and transferred between development, construction and operational functions and, where appropriate, between joint‑venture partners. Where management responsibility lies with a joint‑venture partner, ensure that project and business obligations continue to be met, and put in place and manage monitoring and quality assurance procedures.
  • Due Diligence: input into and complete project due diligence exercises in relation to the acquisition of new renewable projects or entry into new joint ventures.
  • Estate Management: ensure adherence with lease terms and property rights. Initiate audits of land‑right adherence (either physically or by document) at appropriate times to ensure compliance.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: act as a senior point of contact for landowners and project teams.
  • System Management: support the Estate Management Team with inputting into LMS (Land Management System) or SAP RE. Keep Land data up tocombat on MS Lists and Power BI, extract information and provide detailed reports as necessary.
  • Financial Obligations: ensure financial obligations are understood and met. Liaise with the Estate Management team to ensure required payments across all stages of the transaction.
  • Team Development: mentor, guide, assist and train members of the Land & Estates team as required.
