Senior Infrastructure Engineer

Salary : Up to £45,000 depending on experience
We’re looking for a Liverpool (or surrounding areas) based experienced Senior Infrastructure Engineer to join our growing technical team.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys solving complex infrastructure challenges and wants to play a key role in shaping our future technology landscape.
This is a role where we’re restructuring the IT strategy, so a broad thinking approach is required. While the role is listed as hybrid, there is an expectation to be in the office with our Head of IT, for most of the week during probation.
What You’ll Do
- Deliver infrastructure transformation projects, including cloud migrations and security enhancements.
- Oversee and maintain our Microsoft on-premise environment, ensuring stability, performance, and best-practice configurations.
- Support and guide Azure migration activities, contributing architecture insight and hands‑on technical expertise.
- Ensure compliance with ISO 27001, Cyber Essentials Plus and internal security frameworks.
- As the team grows, provide technical leadership and mentoring to junior team members.
- Support BAU incidents and requests.
Essential experience
Most of the following (and be willing to learn the gaps!) :
- Intune / SCCM experience (administration, application deployment etc)
- ITIL awareness and understanding of IT service management principles
- ISO 27001 experience (working knowledge or some familiarity with requirements)
- Cyber Essentials plus (working knowledge or some familiarity with requirements)
- Microsoft on-premise experience (AD, Group Policy, Windows Server, networking, etc.)
- Azure backups experience
- Patch management, asset inventory upkeep, supplier communication (i.e. for logging faults and dealing with external support chains)
- Experience of supporting staff at all levels on site and remotely
- Experience of supporting environments in an ITIL best practice manner
- Good communication skills at all levels with the ability to explain things to audiences of varying technical levels.
Desirable
- Azure certifications – AZ-900 or AZ-104
- Azure migration experience (design, delivery, optimisation)
- IT security-related certification (e.g., CompTIA Security+, CISSP, SSCP)
- Cyber Essentials Plus – audit preparation experience
- ISO 27001 experience (implementation, audit support, or compliance work
- Network configuration and maintenance (device management inc firmware patching and VLAN configuration etc)
