The Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Senior Hydrogeologist to join H Fraser Consulting's Contaminated Land & Hydrogeology team. This is a chance to work in a technically excellent, innovative team delivering projects across the UK. You'll play a key role in both project delivery and the strategic development of services, helping shape the future of the business while mentoring junior colleagues.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage hydrogeology projects from inception to completion, ensuring high-quality outputs and strong client relationships
- Develop and interpret conceptual site models, numerical and analytical groundwater models, risk assessments, and large datasets
- Provide specialist support on water resources, environmental, land development, contaminated land, and landfill projects
- Prepare, review, and communicate technical reports and advice that comply with best practice and legislation
- Identify and contribute to business development opportunities within your technical specialism
- Mentor junior staff, delegate tasks effectively, and support professional development within the team
- Keep abreast of technical innovations and ensure project delivery adds value for clients
Candidate Requirements
- Chartered status with GeolSoc, IES, IEMA, CIWEM, or equivalent
- BSc/BEng in Hydrogeology or relevant subject; MSc or postgraduate qualification preferred
- Proven field experience, including drilling, sampling, groundwater/surface water monitoring, and aquifer testing
- Strong experience in common analytical modelling packages (RTM, CLEA, ConSim, RAM); experience with MODFLOW or FEFLOW is a plus
- Excellent project, client, and stakeholder management skills
- Strong teamwork, mentoring, and leadership abilities
- UK Driving Licence required
