We are seeking a Senior Financial Accountant to take a pivotal role in managing statutory reporting, tax compliance, and capital accounting processes. This is a unique opportunity for someone who thrives in a technical finance environment and wants to work alongside a high-performing team to deliver accurate, timely, and insightful financial information.

As Senior Financial Accountant, you will:

  • Lead statutory accounts preparation, tax and VAT reports and month-end processes.
  • Provide coaching and development to junior finance team members.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and compliance across finance processes.
  • Act as a key liaison with auditors, tax advisers, and other external stakeholders.
  • Contribute to financial reporting, forecasting, and decision-making for the wider organisation.
  • Oversee payroll and capital accounting functions, ensuring integrity of financial records.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a driven and well-respected organisation with a strong reputation for financial excellence. You will work alongside a team of highly capable colleagues, enjoy excellent benefits, and have the chance to develop your career while making a tangible impact on the organisation’s financial operations.

The successful candidate will:

  • Be a qualified accountant with strong technical expertise from within the social housing sector.
  • Have experience in statutory accounts preparation, tax compliance, and financial control.
  • Demonstrate leadership skills and experience developing small teams.
  • Be confident, proactive, and able to communicate complex financial matters to non-finance colleagues.
  • Have advanced IT skills, particularly Excel, and familiarity with ERP systems.

This role combines technical expertise with leadership, offering a real opportunity to shape financial processes and contribute to the organisation’s continued success. Hybrid working is offered, with an office presence of two days per week.
