Senior Finance Transformation Manager

Location: UK – This role can be largely remote but you must be able to commute to Manchester or Brentwood when required.

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Finance Transformation Manager to lead end-to-end finance transformation initiatives, driving process optimisation, system enhancements and organisational change. This role will play a critical part in shaping the future of our finance function by ensuring scalability, efficiency, and alignment with business strategy.

The successful candidate will bring a blend of strong finance expertise, project/program management experience and change management capability. They will partner with senior stakeholders to define transformation roadmaps and deliver sustainable outcomes.

This role is for a UK general insurer who specialise in motor trade. They underwrite both commercial and personal lines and have experienced serious growth in the past two years.

Key Responsibilities
  • Strategy & Roadmap Development
    • Define and deliver the finance transformation strategy, aligning with organisational goals.
    • Identify opportunities to improve finance operating models, processes and technologies.
  • Program Leadership
    • Lead large-scale transformation projects across finance, covering areas such as ERP implementations, process automation, reporting standardisation and shared services.
    • Manage end-to-end project delivery including scoping, planning, execution, risk management and benefits realisation.
  • Stakeholder Engagement
    • Partner with the CFO, senior finance leadership and cross-functional teams to ensure transformation outcomes are business-led and strategically aligned.
    • Communicate progress, challenges, and successes to executive leadership.
  • Process & Technology Optimisation
    • Drive implementation of digital finance solutions
    • Standardise and streamline financial processes across business units and geographies.
  • Change & People Leadership
    • Lead change management activities to embed new ways of working.
    • Mentor and coach teams to build transformation capability within the finance function.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Education & Professional
    • Professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CPA) strongly preferred.
  • Experience
    • Experience in finance transformation, consulting, or senior finance leadership roles.
    • Proven track record leading complex, finance transformation initiatives.
    • Strong knowledge of finance processes (P2P, O2C, R2R, FP&A) and ERP/finance systems
    • Background in management consulting (Big 4 or equivalent) desirable.
    • Experience in the insurance sector preferred
