Overview

Pertemps are delighted to be working with our public sector organisation to recruit an Senior Finance Officer on a temporary basis.

Role: Senior Finance Officer
Location: Edinburgh
Pay Rate: £15.53 per hour
Hours: Monday to Friday - 36 hours per week
Duration: Temporary (12 weeks)
Start Date: Immediate

Responsibilities
  • Supervise the provision of financial support across Facilities Management services.
  • Lead on financial year-end processes including accruals and stock certification.
  • Oversee the processing of data (budgets, payroll, and unit statistics) to produce accurate monthly management reports.
  • Raise purchase orders and external invoices, and ensure supplier payments are processed within statutory timescales.
  • Investigate and resolve subcontractor invoice queries.
  • Ensure financial data is processed, reported, and filed in line with audit requirements.
  • Recharge internal/external services, raise journals, and manage catering/cleaning income recovery.
  • Maintain and update the internal management accounting system to support trading and performance reports.
  • Support subsidy claims, petty cash management, and other operational finance processes.
  • Provide financial advice and guidance to managers and stakeholders across the service.
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes and support the strategic development of the FM department.
About You

We are looking for someone who is highly organised, proactive, and confident working independently. You should have strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to present financial information clearly to both finance and non-finance colleagues.

  • Strong IT skills, with confidence in computerised accounting systems.
  • Supervisory experience, with a clear understanding of customer care.
