A leading financial services organization in Tees Valley is seeking a Senior Finance Manager – Financial Control. This role includes overseeing regulatory deliverables, ensuring financial controls, and driving continuous improvement. The ideal candidate will be a qualified accountant with experience in managing financial processes and teams. An exciting opportunity to join our finance team as a Senior Finance Manager – Financial Control on a fixed term basis (12 months).

The Senior Finance Manager (Financial Control) will be the "go-to" person, ensuring the delivery of a variety of regulatory and statutory deliverables including externally audited statutory financial statements and tax returns, with effective coordination of the production process and external audit, within a robust financial controls framework.
The successful candidate will have technical accounting expertise, confidence in implementing new or changes to company law and Finance GAAP, experience of co-ordinating regulatory and statutory reporting and financial controls policy within a financial services environment.
You will proactively identify and drive the delivery of an agenda for continuous improvement both in terms of quality and efficiency, across the processes and systems, and champion automation where feasible.
You will demonstrate a risk-based mind-set, ensuring oversight of financial control policy, and development of MI reporting. The ability to take ownership of any issues and discrepancies identified is a must, alongside strong organisational skills to ensure all deadlines are met to the agreed timescales.
Further, to succeed in this role you will have previous experience of managing, developing and coaching team members and leading by example. You will have a collaborative approach to working across Finance to ensure the culture of continuous improvement is understood and engaged with. You will have the ability to effectively communicate with a wide range of stakeholders, support the Finance Leadership Team and embed a challenge and can-do attitude, fostering ideas for improvement.
You will be a qualified accountant with several years post qualification experience of leading Financial Control process led teams.
