As Finance Assistant you will be a key member of our finance team, playing a critical role in the success and development of the company. Your role will start with a wide range of responsibilities listed below and require a dependable approach to lay the solid foundations to help us continue to grow.

The objective of this role is to own the transactional postings in Xero, to ensure the finance team can share accurate and timely information with the rest of the company. SURI is a fun, and fast growing company, so there is the opportunity for this role to grow with it.

Role & Responsibilities:

• Process supplier (AP) and customer (AR) invoices, employee expenses, and corporate credit card receipts in a timely and accurate manner
• Reconcile bank transactions within the accounting system (Xero)
• Respond to supplier queries from the accounts inbox
• Prepare the VAT returns
• Prepare multi-currency payment runs
• Assist the Finance Manager with month-end processes and balance sheet reconciliations
• Liaise with the wider team to ensure invoice approvals, and to answer any of their queries
• Supporting with other ad hoc analysis

• 1-2 years experience working within a finance team

• AAT qualifications (or equivalent) is desirable
• Proficiency in Excel and Google Sheets
• Experience with Xero and supporting apps (preferred but not required)
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Excellent attention to detail
• The ability to multitask and to work to deadlines
• Self-motivated, willing to take the initiative
• Strong numeracy skills
• A strong team player
