• Experience working on design-and-build projects or partnership housing frameworks is desirable.

Job description

We are supporting a well-established residential developer based in North Yorshire who are looking to bring a Senior Estimator into their commercial team. The business delivers a wide range of new build housing schemes across the region, including social housing partnerships and mixed-tenure developments.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Estimator who wants to step into a key role within a growing commercial department, with strong long-term pipeline security.

The Role

As Senior Estimator, you will be responsible for the full pre-construction estimating function, including:

• Preparing accurate cost plans, tender submissions and feasibility estimates
• Working closely with the land, technical, and commercial teams during bid and pre-start stages
• Assessing drawings, specifications, and tender information to build competitive and compliant estimates
• Managing subcontractor and supplier pricing, ensuring robust comparisons and value engineering
• Supporting strategic decision-making around land options, development viability and project budgeting
• Providing cost advice and guidance to senior management

About You

To be considered, you will likely have:

• Strong estimating experience within residential construction (open market and/or social housing)
• Background with a housebuilder, developer, or main contractor
• Ability to manage multiple tenders and deadlines simultaneously
• Strong commercial awareness, attention to detail, and problem-solving ability
