A leading infrastructure services provider in the UK is seeking a **Senior Estimator** to oversee the estimation for clean and wastewater projects. This remote role involves producing accurate estimates, advising management on risks, and engaging with stakeholders. This role sits within the Water and Wastewater Capital Project Delivery team, responsible for delivering large-scale programmes designed to keep water infrastructure resilient, compliant and environmentally responsible for the long term.
As Senior Estimator, you will play a key role in shaping commercially robust bids and supporting the successful delivery of clean and wastewater infrastructure projects. Although the role is remote, it is aligned to the Falmer area and associated frameworks.
Working as part of an estimating team, reporting to the Managing Estimator (South) on the relevant framework
Producing accurate, timely estimates across one-off projects and packages of work within clean water and wastewater infrastructure
Providing estimating support for bids and live contracts, ensuring robust pricing, risk management and governance
Advising senior management on commercial influences, risks and opportunities relating to bids
Liaising with suppliers and subcontractors to gather accurate cost data and produce reliable estimates
Ensuring supplier and subcontractor terms are back-to-back with client requirements, or assessing and mitigating any deviations
Prioritising workloads and supporting the wider team to meet business and programme deadlines
Engaging daily with key stakeholders, including clients, operational teams and supply chain partners
Identifying opportunities to improve estimating processes and implementing changes to enhance performance
Essential experience within the water industry, ideally across both water and wastewater environments
Experience estimating on water and/or wastewater infrastructure projects
Strong commercial and contractual knowledge
Excellent communication, influencing and negotiation skills
Proven people management and stakeholder engagement capability
Ability to manage and delegate across fluctuating workloads
A proactive mindset with the ability to identify improvement opportunities and influence change
Strong understanding of governance and estimating processes
Degree qualified in Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Cost & Planning or a related discipline (preferred)
Salary: £70,000 – £80,000 per annum
