Overview

Provide management of the Estates Capital Programme, by developing policies and strategies for the implementation of projects to improve the environment for patients and staff. Ensuring that the agreed budgets are managed efficiently, reporting any deviance to the Capital Planning Review Group on a regular basis.

  • Manage the Estates Capital programme from a project planning perspective and also management of the available budgets within year.
  • Development and implementation of Estates Capital Plans and Policies for service development within the Trust.
  • Manage the small works process on behalf of the Head of Estates, feeding into the Groups and providing specialist advice as necessary.
  • Provide expert specialist, professional construction and estates projects advice to other Estates Staff, Trust Directors and Senior Management within the Trust into the Groups and providing specialist advice as necessary.
  • Ensure works are completed to time, budget and the required quality.
  • Manage the Estates and Facilities Project Team and its associated functions, including the responsibility for carrying out appraisals: recruitment of staff; disciplinary and grievance hearings. Support the Director of Estates and Facilities with other HR duties as required.
  • Manage the Estates Capital programme from a project planning perspective and also management of the available budgets within year.
  • Development and implementation of Estates Capital Plans and Policies for service development within the Trust.
  • Manage the small works process on behalf of the Head of Estates, feeding into the Groups and providing specialist advice as necessary. Ensure works are completed to time, budget and the required quality.
  • Manage external contractors and service providers to ensure all necessary statutory, legal and Trust requirements are met on any works being carried out within the Trust.
  • Keep abreast of best practice in design, construction and maintenance of healthcare buildings and provide advice on such to clinical and non-clinical senior management and directors.
  • Undertake feasibility studies and exercises in value engineering.
  • Analysis of raw data, development of option appraisals and production of reports highlighting recommendations on findings
  • Design, manage and co-ordinate various work streams ensuring that work is being carried out in line with the relevant schedules, to the agreed programme and within the constraints of the Schedule 22 process within the PFI Project Agreement.
  • Provide monthly reports to the Chief Officers on the progress of all variations / projects within the system.
