This is an opportunity to be a key figure within a delivery organisation that brings together the knowledge and experience of Sizewell C, Balfour Beatty, Bouygues Travaux Publics and Laing O\'Rourke. Your leadership will be instrumental in embedding best-practice sustainability, driving innovation, and ensuring we set new standards in environmental delivery.

Responsibilities
  • Provide hands-on, visible leadership for environmental compliance across complex construction areas and work packages on site
  • Ensure all activities comply with environmental approvals, permits, and management plans, proactively identifying and mitigating risk
  • Oversee and continually improve CWA and supply chain environmental management plans and controls, ensuring they are practical, robust and truly integrated into how we work
  • Lead monitoring, inspections, audits and assurance activities, driving performance, influencing behaviours and ensuring any incidents are managed and lessons implemented
  • Act as the primary on-site point of contact for client environment, compliance and assurance representatives, building strong, collaborative relationships with a wide range of stakeholders
  • Champion and facilitate delivery of our sustainability targets around carbon, waste, water, materials and biodiversity-ensuring initiatives are practical, achievable and impactful at site level
  • Lead, mentor and develop the on-site Environmental & Sustainability Team, building environmental capability, accountability and a culture of excellence across all Alliance partners and supply chain
  • Set expectations and provide targeted training, toolbox talks and coaching to embed consistent compliance and best practice behaviours across the project
We are looking for someone who brings
  • Proven experience within the Construction, Civils, Utilities or Energy sector in an environmental and/or sustainability role
  • Sound knowledge of construction environmental management systems and regulatory frameworks, with demonstrable experience leading environmental compliance on major projects
  • A strong track record of leading and developing high-performing teams
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to influence at all levels
  • Relevant degree (e.g., Environmental Science, Sustainability Engineering or related discipline) and high proficiency with MS Office
  • Strong commercial awareness and the ability to drive results in complex, fast-paced environments
  • Professional accreditation and experience working within an alliance delivery model would be highly advantageous
