Overview

Are you passionate about solving environmental, socio-economic and sustainability challenges? Are you an experienced EIA specialist and project manager? Join one of the world\'s most sustainable companies as a Senior Environmental Planner.

You could be based across various UK locations (primarily London, Reading, Bristol, Taunton, Edinburgh or Brighton). We are open to other Stantec offices within commutable distance. At Stantec we redefine what is possible by solving key challenges around housing and infrastructure delivery, and by working on innovative projects in renewable energy (solar, battery storage and energy networks) and decarbonisation (carbon capture storage, transport and technology). You will contribute to building resilience to climate change and improving water quality through a range of water projects and will work across planning regimes (including NSIP / DCO and TCPA) to help clients safely meet objectives in an environmentally and socially sustainable manner.

Responsibilities
  • Support delivery of environmental planning and EIA activities across project types including real estate, energy, water and infrastructure.
  • Collaborate with clients and internal teams to develop planning strategies that align with sustainability goals.
  • Contribute to projects across renewable energy, decarbonisation, climate resilience and water quality improvements.
  • Work within planning regimes (NSIP / DCO / TCPA) to help clients efficiently meet objectives in a safe, sustainable manner.
Qualifications
  • A relevant degree and full membership of a relevant professional institution.
  • Experience in environmental consultancy or a relevant industry sector.
  • Expertise in environmental impact assessments (EIAs) across various project types (real estate, energy, water, infrastructure).
  • Strong understanding of the UK planning system (Town & Country Planning and DCO regimes).
  • Excellent communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
  • A passion for sustainability and a desire to make a positive impact.
