Job Title : Senior Electrical Engineer

Rate : £45.87 / hr

Location : Birmingham

Overview

ARM is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to support projects across the Midlands, Southwest & Wales in sectors including residential, commercial, education, healthcare, transport, defence, and energy.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and specify electrical systems : power, lighting, life safety, telecoms, security, access control, lifts, lightning protection.
  • Produce calculations (Excel, Amtech, Dialux / Relux) and technical specifications (NBS).
  • Collaborate with BIM / Revit teams; conduct site surveys and inspections.
  • Manage workload, budgets, and support junior staff.
  • Maintain quality, environmental, and governance standards.
Requirements
  • Degree in Electrical / Building Services Engineering (or equivalent); Chartered preferred (CIBSE / IET).
  • Experience in design consultancy or contractor design environment.
  • Proficient with Amtech / Prodesign, Dialux / Relux, NBS, Microsoft Office.
  • Knowledge of energy reduction, decarbonisation, and building physics.
  • Strong report writing, client engagement, and independent working skills.
