The Vacancy

Location - Chester/Leeds/Birmingham

Binnies UK, part of the RSK Group, is recruiting talented engineers to join our growing Delivery business across the UK. Our teams deliver Critical Human Infrastructure projects in the Water and Wastewater industries both domestically and internationally. Join us to work on challenging engineering projects within a collaborative environment.

We are seeking Senior / Principal EICA Design Engineers for projects involving clean water and wastewater schemes, from concept to detailed design for construction.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading electrical engineering teams to produce clear deliverables such as single line diagrams, control system architecture drawings, load schedules, MCC datasheets, and equipment specifications.
  • Serving as a technical expert providing knowledge and guidance.
  • Ensuring compliance with internal procedural and quality standards.
  • Coordinating multidisciplinary deliverables like P&IDs.
  • Managing design interfaces and integrating EICA elements into overall projects.
  • Collaborating with project teams, other disciplines, project managers, and clients.
  • Conducting technical bid assessments and supporting site teams.
  • Providing technical supervision and guidance to project teams.
  • Managing project budgets, schedules, and quality standards.

Essential requirements:

  • Experience in designing water and wastewater systems, including equipment specification and control systems.
  • Knowledge of electrical power systems, water treatment control systems, and relevant standards and codes.
  • Degree in electrical engineering or a related field.
  • Several years of relevant work experience.
  • Enthusiastic, adaptable, and driven to find efficient engineering solutions.
  • Self-motivated with leadership skills to guide teams.
  • Excellent communication and computer literacy skills.

Desirable qualifications:

  • Professional registration (IEng / CEng MIET).
  • Leadership qualities to build effective teams.
  • Commitment to continuous improvement and mentoring.
  • Desire to develop technical knowledge and industry awareness.
