The role

As a Senior Electrical, Control and Instrumentation Engineer, you lead the design, integration and maintenance of high-integrity EC&I systems across nuclear facilities. Day-to-day, you’ll:

  • Leading the delivery of robust EC&I designs that meet nuclear safety, reliability and regulatory standards
  • Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to support strategic nuclear programmes
  • Interfacing with internal stakeholders such as project managers and commissioning engineers, and external partners including regulators and clients
  • Ensuring all engineering outputs meet industry standards and site licence conditions
  • Driving continuous improvement and innovation across EC&I systems and processes

This is a full-time role, working 37 hours per week. Hybrid working patterns are available, with an expectation of three days on site. The role is based at one of our key locations – Moor Row (Cumbria), Warrington (Cheshire), Leicester (Leicestershire) or Bristol. Travel to customer sites may be required depending on project needs.

Essential experience
  • Design and deliver EC&I systems in regulated environments
  • Apply nuclear safety standards such as IEC 61508 and BS EN 61511
  • Work within cross-functional teams on complex engineering projects
  • Engage with regulators, clients and suppliers to resolve technical challenges
  • Produce and review technical documentation including specifications and safety case contributions
Qualifications
  • Degree in Electrical Engineering, Control Engineering, Instrumentation or a related discipline
  • Chartered Engineer status or working towards it (preferred)
