Senior Education Welfare Officer needed in Southwark

The rate is £24.43ph PAYE

This is a temporary role

The reference number is: OR18540

The successful candidate will deliver a targeted education inclusion service working in partnership with parents, young people, schools, and multi‑agency partners to ensure all children of compulsory school age access education.

They will promote full‑time attendance, positive behaviour, and achievement to prevent exclusion, supporting schools and families with managed moves and multi‑agency plans where appropriate. They will discharge statutory responsibilities on attendance and inclusion, including parental responsibility measures and enforcement action, while providing timely screening and assessment for those at risk of exclusion through a Team Around the Family approach. The candidate will lead attendance investigations, prepare and present cases for education legal planning and court proceedings, contribute to locating children missing education, and provide expert oversight and consultation to practitioners and managers to ensure effective escalation and decision‑making in relation to persistent non‑attendance.
