Job summary

A values-driven environmental consultancy in the UK seeks a Senior or Principal Ecologist to lead ecological projects. This role requires a strong background in ecological consultancy with a minimum of 6 years of experience. The successful candidate will deliver habitat surveys, provide technical guidance, and engage with clients and stakeholders. This is an opportunity to shape best practices while supporting junior ecologists. A degree in Ecology or a related field and a full UK driving licence are essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 years' experience in ecological consultancy.
• Full UK driving licence and flexibility to travel.
• CEnv or Full Member of CIEEM (or IEMA / ISEP equivalent).

Responsibilities

• Lead and deliver Phase 1 & 2 habitat surveys and protected species surveys.
• Prepare PEAs, mitigation strategies, and EPS licence applications.
• Liaise with Natural England and local authorities.
