The Senior Design Manager role

As Lead Senior Design Manager, you will:

• Drive design strategy for major hospital projects.
• Act as the strategic lead, ensuring technically compliant, cost-efficient solutions aligned with client requirements.
• Influence early-stage design decisions and submissions to maximise value and win work.
• Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to deliver innovative, compliant solutions.
• Ensure adherence to statutory requirements, planning permissions, Building Regulations, CDM regulations, and contract-specific standards.
• Identify opportunities for design improvement and manage risks effectively.

Your Profile

We're looking for a driven leader who thrives on complexity and client engagement:

• Chartered professional (CIOB, RICS, ICE, RIBA).
• Extensive experience in design management for large-scale projects (£300m+), ideally healthcare.
• Strong knowledge of CDM and Building Regulations.
• Expertise in P23, NEC3 contracts, and healthcare sector delivery.
• Proven ability to lead strategically, influence decisions, and build strong client relationships.
