Job summary

A leading automotive consultancy in Warwick is looking for a Senior Design Consultant to lead electrical aspects of vehicle programmes, ensuring readiness for production release. The ideal candidate should have extensive experience in electrical system design, particularly in the automotive sector, and possess strong leadership and project management skills. This contract position offers the opportunity to work on significant projects within the industry. Candidates must be eligible to work full-time in the UK.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in electrical system design, preferably within the automotive industry.
• Deep understanding of vehicle electrical systems, including wiring harnesses and ECUs.
• Ability to guide and mentor a team of engineers.

Responsibilities

• Lead the electrical aspects of the vehicle programme in production release.
• Focus on parts release and electrical system DV activities.
• Report on Production Release readiness and associated risks.

Job Description

• Lead the electrical aspects of the T.50s vehicle programme in the run up to production release
• Focus on parts release and DV activities for the electrical system
• Including review electrical harness CAD including correct harness routing and clipping support supplied by Tier 1 supplier in the context of the vehicle
• Chair all required meetings and minute actions through RAG status
• Report out to Senior management on Production Release readiness and identify any associated risk

Qualifications / Skills needed

• Extensive experience in electrical system design, preferably within the automotive industry or in low-volume manufacturing.
• Deep understanding of vehicle electrical systems, including wiring harnesses, ECUs, sensors, power distribution, and battery management systems.
• Strong project management and leadership skills.
• Ability to guide and mentor a team of engineers and technicians.
• Ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
