Summary:

We are looking for a Senior Corporate Tax Manager to join our Group Tax team on a fixed term contract. This is a senior, hands‑on role with responsibility for the delivery of corporate tax compliance, reporting and governance across a large, complex and regulated financial services group.

Reporting to the Divisional Director – Group Tax, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the Group meets its UK and international corporate tax obligations, while supporting accurate financial and regulatory reporting. You will also lead and develop a small, high‑performing tax team and work closely with Finance, senior stakeholders and external advisors.

What you’ll be doing:
  • Lead the end‑to‑end delivery of corporate tax compliance, including preparation, review and coordination of Corporation Tax returns and payments.
  • Manage monthly, interim and year‑end corporate tax reporting, including contributions to group financial statements and regulatory reporting processes.
  • Act as the corporate tax lead on projects and support wider Finance initiatives as required.
  • Monitor changes in UK and international tax legislation, assessing impacts and advising on risks and opportunities.
  • Manage relationships with external tax advisors and outsourced service providers, ensuring high‑quality, cost‑effective delivery.
  • Lead, mentor and develop a team of corporate tax professionals, supporting both technical excellence and career progression.
  • Contribute to governance and decision‑making forums, providing clear and pragmatic tax input to senior stakeholders.
Who we’re looking for:

We are seeking an experienced corporate tax professional who thrives in a fast‑paced, complex environment and enjoys balancing technical depth with commercial insight. You will be a confident people manager, comfortable working with senior stakeholders, and capable of translating complex tax issues into clear, practical advice. This role would suit someone looking to step into a broad senior manager position with real ownership, influence and visibility.

Skills & Experience:
  • Professionally qualified (CTA, ACA or ACCA) with strong post‑qualification corporate tax experience.
  • Proven experience delivering UK Corporation Tax compliance and reporting within a large or complex group.
  • Experience managing and developing a team, with a collaborative and supportive leadership style.
  • Strong technical ability, with confidence applying complex tax legislation in practice.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain technical tax matters clearly to non‑specialists.
  • Experience within financial services or other highly regulated environments.
  • Exposure to international corporate tax matters, including transfer pricing, Pillar Two or CbCR.
  • Experience supporting regulatory or capital reporting from a tax perspective.
  • Background working with external tax advisors or outsourced service models.
