The Role

The European Capital Advisory team is expanding and requires a Senior Consultant based in our London office. Senior Consultants will have the opportunity to apply financial analysis skills, commercial awareness and professional expertise to stressed and distressed situations. This role offers exposure to large (multi-billion pound), complex refinancing and restructuring transactions and a wide range of investment banking style financial advisory services. The European Capital Advisory team is a small group of professionals, led by Raj Apte, dedicated to covering Continental Europe. The role will provide the Senior Consultant with significant client-facing exposure in an excellent team learning environment.

Key Skills & Experience
  • Prepare, analyse and evaluate historical and project financial performance
  • Prepare or review financial models
  • Display a high level of commercial acumen and an awareness of the key drivers of corporate failure or underperformance
  • Coordinate and perform financial due diligence
  • Experienced in presenting findings clearly in reports and other deliverables to clients
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills with a focus on accuracy and attention to detail
  • Understanding of basic corporate finance principles, including different valuation theories, methodologies and applications
  • Ability to read and comprehend financial and legal documentation
  • Assist in the planning and execution of business development activities
  • Build relationships and maintain direct contact with clients and prospective clients and professional advisors
  • Highly proficient in MS Excel modelling skills (including integrated financial models) and MS PowerPoint presentation preparation
  • Acting with discretion, integrity and professionalism at all times and being a key source of support for more senior individuals
  • Demonstrating strong interpersonal skills across all levels
  • Being seen as a cooperative team player willing to resolve issues for the good of all
  • Proactively taking on the challenge of unfamiliar tasks and remaining calm under pressure
  • Positive outlook, committed and enthusiastic, with initiative and a proactive approach
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills (additional European language skills, e.g. German, a plus)
