We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Senior Employee Communications Manager.

Sitting within the UK Communications team, this role supports the Head of Communications for WPB UK to manage and execute the employee communications strategy across WPB UK in order to drive engagement and help deliver the business objectives. The role has line management responsibility for one team member.

As a senior member of the WPB Communications team, the role holder will work flexibly alongside colleagues to develop and create high quality employee engagement strategies and content aimed at and about WPB, to support the UK communications strategy and business priorities. The role holder will deputise for the Head of Communications for WPB UK as required at meetings, events, working groups and projects, and take shared responsibility for incident management, including some out of hours work as required.

In this role you will:

  1. Support the Head of Communications for WPB UK to manage and execute the employee communications strategy across WPB UK in order to drive engagement and help deliver the business objectives
  2. Act as lead employee communications business partner to HSBC Private Bank UK, UK Customer Channels and other key areas of WPB as required
  3. Provide strategic advice and deliver consistency of message, support the development and execution of comms plans
  4. Support on change programmes and issues management
  5. Line manage one direct report

Qualifications and experience include:

  • Significant experience in developing and implementing end-to-end employee communication plans at a senior level
  • Experience in advising on and managing change communications and crisis communications
  • Excellent knowledge of communication trends and best practice
  • Natural creative thinker and rapport builder, with experience dealing with senior stakeholders and navigating a complex matrix organisation
  • Understanding of best practice in measuring the effectiveness of communications in order to iterate and increase their business impact
