Senior Commercial Property Solicitor / CILEX

Senior Associate / Salaried Partner (Dependent on Experience)

Hours :

Monday Thursday : 9 : 00am – 5 : 30pm

Friday : 9 : 00am – 5 : 00pm (37 hours per week, 1-hour lunch break)

Introduction

An established legal practice is seeking an experienced Senior Commercial Property Solicitor or CILEX Lawyer to join its Commercial Property team at Senior Associate or Salaried Partner level. This role is suited to a lawyer with a minimum of 8 years PQE who is looking to take a strategic role within a growing department.

This is a senior position offering the opportunity to help shape and develop the commercial property team. The successful candidate will combine strong technical expertise with leadership capability, business development focus, and the ability to supervise and mentor junior team members.

While the role is primarily based in a Birmingham city centre office, there may be occasional travel to another regional office to support team collaboration.

The Role
  • Drafting, negotiating and completing commercial leases, licences to occupy, agreements for lease, and related documentation
  • Acting for SMEs and business owners on the acquisition and disposal of commercial property
  • Acting for lenders, including bridging finance, in secured lending transactions
  • Acting for receivers on property sales
  • Acting for liquidators and administrators on property transactions arising from insolvency matters
  • Advising on property aspects of corporate transactions including acquisitions, disposals, mergers, restructurings and share purchases
  • Conducting property due diligence for corporate transactions, including title reviews, lease analysis, searches and reporting
  • Advising on freehold and leasehold acquisitions and disposals within wider corporate deals
  • Advising on property finance matters, including security over land
  • Drafting and negotiating contracts and auction packs
Leadership & Management
  • Supervising and managing junior members of the commercial property team
  • Conducting regular supervision meetings
  • Supporting training and development within the team
Client & Business Development
  • Building and maintaining strong client relationships
  • Delivering a high standard of client care and file management
  • Actively contributing to business development and growth of the department
  • Attending networking and marketing events
  • Contributing to firm-wide strategy initiatives
  • Preparing annual submissions for legal directory rankings (e.g. Legal 500)
Essential Skills & Experience
  • Strong technical knowledge of commercial property law
  • Minimum of 8 years PQE
