Contract - Permanent: 1 x Senior Commercial Finance Manager & 1 x Senior Marketing Finance Manager

Working as the Senior Manager within the Commercial Finance team, you will be the primary finance contact for either the sales or commercial development team. The role requires a finance leader to act as a business partner to the channel, providing first‑class decision support and analysis whilst ensuring that all commercial finance accountabilities are delivered effectively and in full. This role provides an opportunity to influence and lead change within one of the key focus areas of our business, and to develop future strategies to grow the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Be the primary finance business partner for multiple customers – develop effective and mutually beneficial relationships to support and influence key commercial decisions.
- Develop in‑depth knowledge of the commercial environment to drive increased value and profitability.
- Effectively manage the P&L and balance sheet for key customers – support the sales team to ensure that off‑invoice investments and accruals are accounted for correctly and within the appropriate guidelines.
- Ensure the month‑end process runs smoothly.
- Proactively support working capital visibility and improvement initiatives.
- Evaluate and make recommendations on significant business proposals – manage complex analysis projects, evaluate findings, and recommend the financial implications of proposed investments.
- Proactively analyse the effectiveness of promotions and customer investments.
- Support business proposals for potential new customers and renegotiation of existing contracts.
- Support customer revenue and pricing discussions.
- Provide insight and analysis into the performance of the channel – offer financial leadership, guidance and insights.
- Identify trends impacting year‑to‑date, rest‑of‑year and full‑year performance of the channel, articulate these trends and make recommendations to drive business performance.
- Plan and forecast – support the annual planning process ensuring key pack and customer strategies are accurately reflected and built on robust assumptions.
- Support the ongoing rolling estimate forecast to ensure positive contributions to the S&OP process.
- Lead a team of 4 direct reports – apply personal development and performance management routines, set challenging but deliverable objectives, mentor and coach managers and analysts, and recruit high‑calibre talent when vacancies arise.
Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum 3 years post‑qualified experience (CIMA, ACA, or ACCA).
- Minimum 3 years working within a commercial finance environment, preferably in an FMCG company.
- Intermediate/advanced MS Office Suite skills, especially PowerPoint and Excel.
- Analytical, improvement‑focused and problem‑solving mindset.
- Experience leading a team and/or line management.
- Proven influencing capability across all levels.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to tailor messages to different audiences and situations.
- Proactive driver of change.
- Understanding of the link between FMCG suppliers, retailers and wholesalers.
