A healthcare trust in the United Kingdom is seeking a Senior Clinical Psychologist to join their Older Person's inpatient team for a 6-month sickness cover. The role focuses on providing specialist assessments, interventions, and leadership for older adults with mental health issues. Ideal candidates will have inpatient experience and a solid background in multidisciplinary teamwork, supporting the dynamic environment we foster to promote staff wellbeing and professional development.
We have an opportunity for a Senior Clinical Psychologist to join our Older Person's inpatient team for 6 months of sickness cover, to provide leadership and management, specialist assessment and interventions, and support for complex case management. At St George's Park there are 2 older adult mixed gender wards, one functional and one organic. There is currently a full time Higher Assistant Psychologist across both wards and a part time Nurse Systemic practitioner on the functional ward as part of the older adult psychology team. Psychology is very well respected within the North Inpatient CBU, which is reflected in the ongoing expansion of psychological input across the site in acute, rehab and older adults inpatient wards.
The role would suit those who have an interest in working with older adults with both organic and mental health difficulties. We are looking for an enthusiastic clinician with previous inpatient experience, and significant experience in working with MDTs within pressured and busy systems. The post holder will be supervised by the Associate Psychological Services Director.
The service has a strong commitment to CPD and professional development, and we want to nurture each clinician in their career longer term. Within inpatient services, we hold the value of being creative and very much welcome new and improved processes and ideas, particularly around staff wellbeing and how to champion this. We aim to attract and retain a diverse, talented and committed workforce, who are caring and compassionate, and therefore able to meet the demands of the modern NHS now and in the future. In return we can offer a dynamic working environment in which to build a career.
