SENIOR CLINICAL HAND FELLOW IN TRAUMA & ORTHOPAEDICS
(StRH LEVEL)
Senior Clinical Fellow in Hand Surgery is required to commence 6 month posts from5 August 2026 to 3 August 2027 to work alongside 5 hand surgery consultants within the Trauma and Orthopaedic Directorate. The successful candidates will be based at the University Hospital of Wales and Llandough Hospital. They will be expected to provide middle grade cover for clinical sessions. Trauma services are provided at the University Hospital of Wales with a dedicated trauma theatre.
The University Hospital of Wales and University Hospital Llandough are busy hand centres providing secondary and tertiary services for hand surgery alongside spinal trauma, pelvic and acetabular trauma and complex limb trauma. The Elective service is based at Llandough Hospital and is one of the busiest orthopaedic centres in the UK with over 10,000 orthopaedic operations performed in the last financial year.
This post is only suitable for Post FRCS (Orth) trainees interested in gaining focussed training in Hand Surgery. Independent Operating sessions will be available along with supervised sessions with 4 consultant hand surgeons. General orthopaedic trauma on-calls will be undertaken.
