  • Participate in an on-call rota for emergency admissions.
  • Engage in abdominal wall and perineal reconstruction.

Overview

Broomfield Hospital has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Clinical Fellow in Burns Surgery!

The unit is a well-recognised centre for advanced training in Breast and Reconstructive Microsurgery, Hand and Complex Limb Trauma reconstruction, Burns acute management and late reconstruction, and Cleft surgery. The St Andrews Centre is also a regional tertiary centre for Head and Neck cancer services for the Essex region.

As a Senior Clinical Fellow you will be involved in the management of melanoma and non‑melanoma skin cancer with loco‑regional and free flaps reconstruction.

Responsibilities
  • Perform SNLB, regional lymph node dissection (neck, axilla, and groin), and parotidectomy for parotid metastasis.
  • Provide exposure to acute and reconstructive Burn Care in a high‑volume service.
  • Support the plastic surgical service at the St Andrew's Centre and satellite hospitals as required.
  • Attend out‑patient departments and operating theatres as required by consultants.
  • Deputise for consultants in their absence at a level commensurate with your experience in plastic surgery.
  • Undertake at least one regular trauma session in the theatre at St Andrew's each week.
  • Participate in an on‑call rota covering the management of Plastic, Hand and Burn patients admitted as emergencies.
  • Engage in abdominal wall and perineal reconstruction.
