Job summary

A large NHS teaching hospital is seeking a Senior Clinical Fellow in Radiology for a fixed term position. This role is designed for candidates pursuing subspecialty training in pediatric, hepatobiliary, uroradiology, breast, and interventional radiology. Full FRCR and GMC registration are required, along with experience in a busy acute hospital. The position offers a competitive salary of £73,992 per annum plus London allowance, and includes participation in out-of-hours shifts.

Qualifications

  • Completed Specialty Registrar training (CCT) in Radiology or equivalent required.
  • Knowledge of radiology emergencies is essential.
  • Competent to report on-call CT and ultrasound without supervision.

Responsibilities

Department of Radiology, Sub-specialty Senior Clinical Fellow in Radiology

Applications are invited for this fixed term post in the following radiology subspecialty:

  • Paediatric radiology
  • Hepatobiliary radiology (diagnostic)
  • Uroradiology (diagnostic)
  • Breast Radiology
  • Interventional radiology (hepatobiliary/urological/vascular)

with acute imaging at the clinical radiology department based at King's College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. This post is tailored for applicants aiming to gain focused sub-speciality experience to support preparation for a future consultant role.

Main duties of the job

To be considered applicants must meet the essential criteria stated in the job description and have:

  • Completed Specialty Registrar training (CCT) in Radiology or equivalent and,
  • hold full FRCR (part 1 and part 2a and 2b) prior to commencing the post and,
  • full registration with a Licence to Practice with the General Medical Council at the time of application.

Job responsibilities

The scope of the duties of the post holder will be subjected to approval by specialty and service leads, following consultation with individual post holders. In addition, the individual will to play an active role in the general workload of the imaging departments and will participate in the out-of-hours evening and weekend shift rota.

Qualifications

Training and Experience
  • Wide experience in all aspects of general, culminating in award of Certificate of completion of training (CCT) or equivalent.
  • Knowledge/experience of radiology emergencies
  • Competent to work, reporting of on-call CT and ultrasound without direct supervision where appropriate
  • Experience and ability to work in multi-professional teams in the Health Service
  • Experience in day-to-day organisation of radiology services in a busy Acute Hospital
  • Demonstrates breadth of experience and awareness in and outside specialty
Personal Skills
  • Effective communicator, able to work in a close-knit team and co-operate with all medical and paramedical staff.
  • Flexible and resilient.
  • Familiarity with information technology and general computer skills.
