Role Overview

The Bristol Urological Institute offers an exciting opportunity to appoint a Senior Clinical Fellow in Urology to commence November 2025. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in patient care, teaching, and research within a leading national centre.

Key Responsibilities

Clinical – Participate in a 1:12 on call rota and manage day‑to‑day ward patient care. Deliver specialist urological services including oncological and reconstructive procedures.

Teaching – Actively engage in the institute’s teaching programme. Provide teaching sessions for medical students and junior doctors, covering clinical duties as required.

Research – Undertake a ½ day dedicated research session and contribute to ongoing projects. Complete at least one audit project during the training period.

Qualifications & Experience

The post is best suited for trainees at the end of urological training or post‑CCT. Experience and familiarity with UK hospital systems and practices or equivalent is desirable. Overseas applicants must be eligible for GMC registration and have passed IELTS with an overall score of 7.5.

Applicants should be prepared for weekly cancer multidisciplinary team meetings, postgraduate lecture rounds, and X‑ray meetings.

Location & Facilities

Southmead Hospital offers a comprehensive Urology service through the Bristol Urological Institute. The institute is a tertiary referral centre with advanced theatre facilities, including a robotic theatre, an outpatients department, a urodynamics service, and an on‑site lithotripsy service. A dedicated learning and research facility supports a national and international education centre.
