A prominent NHS hospital is seeking applicants for a cardiothoracic surgery role aimed at trainees with a solid interest in the specialty. The position requires at least 2 years of full-time hospital service and experience in cardiothoracic surgery. Candidates must hold a Medical Degree and MRCS qualification. Successful applicants will be supported by an educational supervisor and will engage fully in departmental training programs. Ideal for those aiming for career progression in cardiothoracic surgery.

This post would be suitable for trainees with a strong interest in cardiothoracic surgery who would like to apply for a numbered training post in the future. Previous experience in the field of cardiothoracic surgery, but not necessarily at SpR level, is essential. Ideally trainees will have completed their MRCP Part One and will have an up to date certification for Adult Life Support training.
Although these appointments are not accredited for training the appointees will be expected to participate fully in the educational and training programs within the department and the hospital. Appointees will have a named educational supervisor. Annual leave and study leave is commensurate with other post foundation doctors.
You must have appropriate UK professional registration.
