Our Adolescent Service is recognised as a leading example at a national level and the inpatient unit is the largest in Europe. Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will form an integral member of the Adolescent medicine and TRACCS (Treatment and rehabilitation of complex conditions team). They will take a senior role within the team and be responsible for helping look after inpatients, day care patients and outpatients with a range of diagnoses including CFS/ME, medically unexplained symptoms, FND and other complex conditions. The post holder will support the junior medical team and MDT. The post holder will have responsibility for ongoing care of chronic cases and general overview of activity on a busy adolescent ward. It is expected that the applicant will gain a wide exposure to adolescent medicine and other conditions as well as safeguarding and complexities in adolescent care.

The post holder will contribute to the teaching of medical students and junior doctors. He/she will participate in the weekly postgraduate meetings of the paediatric department as well as audit, governance and training meetings. He/she will contribute to the teaching programme for the paediatric SHOs. The post holder will contribute regularly to undergraduate teaching and will be asked to tutor small groups of students.
