The role will not only involve delivering direct clinical care to patients but will also require supervision of junior staff, students and allied health professionals, delivery of teaching, and engagement with departmental quality improvement and governance.
For those candidates who demonstrate commitment to a career in Emergency medicine there will be the opportunity to pursue the Certificate of Equivalent Specialist Registration (CESR). This training is supported by an enthusiastic team of ED consultants, including formal Clinical Educators, who will guide and prepare you for the FRCEM examinations.
Due to the timing of the role and service demand, successful candidates must hold current registration with the GMC at the time of application. The applicant must also have a minimum of 5 years post graduate clinical experience, including at least 2 years NHS experience. Candidates who are not GMC registered or do have not met the minimum clinical experience requirements will not progress through to the shortlisting stage.
