Overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Clinical Coding department at Hampshire Hospitals for an ACC qualified coder. We are looking for someone with enthusiasm and motivation to join our well established and busy Clinical Coding Department.

As an Accredited Clinical Coder, you will have experience of coding a variety of specialties that occur within an acute NHS organisation. You will have a flexible and adaptable approach to work and strive to create accurate clinically coded data, embracing the national clinical coding standards, rules, and conventions, to ensure the Trust data is sufficiently robust.

This role attracts a recruitment and retention premium of 20% of the basic annual salary. Clinical Coding is a unique department within NHS Hospitals supporting Business Intelligence and Finance teams within Hampshire Hospitals.

Responsibilities
  • Manage the volume of uncoded activity in assigned specialties against agreed deadlines.
  • Participate in coding audits and assist in the provision of high‑quality information required by the Trust in a timely and accurate manner.
Qualifications
  • ACC qualified or equivalent.
  • Experience coding a variety of specialties within an acute NHS organisation.
