Senior Civil Engineer – Highways and Transportation

Roughan & O’Donovan is seeking to recruit a senior civil engineer with eight to 15 years’ experience for a permanent position within our expanding transportation team in Leeds, UK

Job type: Permanent

About the role

You will join a team of transportation experts providing integrated transportation planning and design services across road, rail, bus rapid transit, cycleway and pedestrian schemes.

Our team has the experience and skills to cover the full life cycle of transport assets - from early-stage investigations and modelling, through construction management, to ongoing asset maintenance.

We deploy state-of-the-art traffic and transport modelling technologies to support informed, resilient and sustainable transport solutions.

  • Honours degree incivil engineering (minimum Level 8 qualification in the National Framework of Qualifications or equivalent)
  • Eight to 15 years’ postgraduate experience in the civil engineeringsector
  • Minimum of five years’ direct experience in design for transportationprojects
  • Chartered membership of a recognised professional body in the engineering sector
  • KnowledgeofUK/Irishdesignstandardse.g. DMRB, Manual for Streets, LTN 1/20, MCHW,etc.
  • Experience of preparing detailed works contractspecifications
  • Excellent report writing and verbal communicationskills
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to produce quality designoutputs
  • Comfortable working in a busy work environment with tightdeadlines
