Salary: GBP40,000 - GBP50,000

This is an exciting opportunity to join my client, a well‑established, proactive Multidisciplinary Consultancy, dedicated to broadening their geographical reach by establishing a brand new office location in stunning Scotland. Known for lending their expertise to a diverse range of projects across the landscape architecture, planning, and civil engineering fields, they are on the lookout for a capable, passionate Senior Civil Engineer with extensive knowledge of infrastructure design, who is willing to take on a variety of challenging projects. You will be working alongside a newly‑established team of infrastructure design experts, based near the large, lively city of Glasgow.

Responsibilities
  • Contributing to the design of a range of engineering projects and developments
  • Overseeing the day‑to‑day running of projects, from inception through to successful delivery/implementation
  • Mentoring and supporting colleagues as they develop professionally
  • Liaising with clients and stakeholders across the public and private sectors
  • Preparing and checking technical documents, including reports, specifications, drawings, calculations, risk assessments, and method statements
  • Adhering to company policies, procedures, and best practice, upholding the appropriate health and safety standards at all times
  • Acting as a company representative at client meetings and site visits, etc.
Required skills and experience
  • A UK Degree (or equivalent qualification) in Civil or Structural Engineering
  • Possess Chartered Status with a relevant, recognised professional body (e.g., ICE)
  • Experience of working in a design‑based role, within a UK‑based consultancy or Local Authority
  • Considerable experience of working on infrastructure (especially highways and drainage), housing developments, and energy engineering projects
  • Experience of earthworks and drainage network modelling
  • Proficient in the use of various software packages (including Civils 3D, MicroDrainage, AutoCAD, and others)
  • Considerable experience of writing and checking a variety of technical documents
  • Demonstrable experience of liaising with clients and stakeholders
  • Excellent organisation, time management, team leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
Desirable skills and experience
  • A Higher Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
  • Experience of authoring Flood Risk Assessments
  • Experience of preparing Transport Assessments
  • Experience of leading projects/teams
  • Experience of working in a public‑facing role
  • Hold a full, valid UK driving licence
