Overview

Senior Civil Engineer - Water & Wastewater Infrastructure. Ready to Make a Real Impact? We\'re seeking a passionate Senior Civil Engineer to help shape the future of water and wastewater treatment across the Thames Valley and Home Counties. This is a chance to contribute meaningfully to AMP8 delivery—modernising treatment works, enhancing essential services, and protecting the environment for generations to come.

This hybrid role requires 2-3 days per week on-site. The standard working week is 36 hours, Monday to Friday.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the design development of multiple water and wastewater network projects from concept and feasibility through to contract award.
  • Identify, analyse, and mitigate project risks to unlock opportunities and enable accurate scope definition and pricing.
  • Oversee contractor-led detailed design and ensure necessary design changes are implemented during construction.
  • Support project teams during commissioning and asset handover phases.
  • Conduct design reviews to ensure robust, safe, and operationally sound solutions.
  • Act as the key contact for CDM Designer or Principal Designer responsibilities during early design stages.
Qualifications & Requirements
  • HNC, BEng, or MEng in Civil Engineering.
  • Chartered status or working towards chartership with a recognised professional body.
  • Experience in oil and gas pipelines, multi-utility coordination (e.g., fibre optics, electrical cables).
  • Strong understanding of project delivery principles in process industries.
  • Solid grasp of Health & Safety regulations within the construction sector.
  • Familiarity with industrial process decision-making within civil engineering contexts.
  • A valid driver\'s license and access to a vehicle are preferred but not essential—applications are welcome from candidates without personal transport.
