Overview

CK Group are recruiting for a Shift Senior Site Chemist to join a hazardous waste management company based at their site near Birmingham on a full‑time, permanent basis. The salary is £30,000 per annum.

A shift role involving nights and working outdoors – not in a laboratory. The position is shift based, working 40 hours per week: morning shift from 6 am to 3 pm, afternoon shift from 1 pm to 10 pm and night shift from 10 pm to 6 am.

The site is located near Walsall and is commutable from Birmingham.

Responsibilities
  • Ensure all incoming consignments of waste have appropriate paperwork and complete safety checks to allow acceptance on site.
  • Perform regular sampling of received waste.
  • Record waste acceptance using the SAP system.
  • Label waste correctly with all relevant information.
  • Process waste as required, including bulking, sorting, segregating, listing and re‑packing.
Qualifications
  • Degree level or HNC qualification in Chemistry or a related field.
  • Previous experience in the waste industry essential.
  • SAP experience essential.
  • Willingness to work in outdoor, hazardous chemical environments and undertake a manual, hands‑on approach.
  • Entitlement to work in the UK.
