Senior Care Assistant Night Shift

Senior Care Assistant Night Shift. Burscough Manor Care Home

  • £14.45 per hour
  • Either 33 hours per week (3 shifts) or 44 hours per week (4 shifts) depending on preference
  • Night Shifts: 8pm-8am on a rolling rota, including some weekend working

At Sandstone Care Group, we are committed to delivering high-quality care in a warm, supportive environment. Burscough Manor is a purpose-built, 80-bed care home offering specialist services including complex care, dementia care, palliative care, and general residential and nursing care.

We are currently seeking a compassionate and experienced Senior Care Assistant to join our night team. This is a fantastic opportunity to take on a leadership role during night shifts, ensuring our residents receive the highest standard of care and support throughout the night.

Responsibilities
  • Supporting residents with personal care, hygiene, and comfort during the night
  • Providing emotional reassurance and companionship as needed
  • Monitoring residents’ wellbeing and responding to any changes or concerns
  • Maintaining accurate records and ensuring handovers are clear and thorough
  • Leading and supporting night staff, including supervision and guidance
  • Assisting with staff appraisals, training, and liaising with healthcare professionals
  • Ensuring the home remains calm, safe, and well-managed overnight
What we are looking for
  • Supervisory or leadership experience in a residential or nursing home setting
  • A warm, professional approach with a positive attitude
  • Level 3 qualification in Health & Social Care (or willingness to work towards it)
  • Confidence in using care systems and maintaining accurate records
  • Ability to remain calm and lead effectively under pressure
  • Flexibility to work night shifts, including weekends on a rota basis

  • Overtime is paid for working over full time hours. However, overtime enhancement will not feature on your contract of employment and can be withdrawn at any time as managers decision is final.Free meals are given if working over an 8 hour shift and are subject to terms and conditions. Discounts are accessed using our ‘Reward Me’ app. Flexible pay is available via ‘WAGESTREAM’. A welcome bonus of £250 will be paid after three months of employment, with a further £250 awarded upon successful completion of your six-month probation.
