Qualifications

  • Minimum of two years' experience as a Care Assistant in residential/nursing home setting.
  • Awareness of Person-Centred Care Planning principles.
  • Understanding of abuse prevention and procedures.

Job Title: Senior Care Assistant - Days

Salary*: £15.84ph (from 1st Jan 2026) plus incentives

Hours: Full Time - 7am-7pm, 3-4 days a weeks to include alternate weekends

About Nightingale Nursing & Care Home

Nightingale Nursing & Care Home is based in the centre of Edwinstowe, near Mansfield.The home, although purpose-built, has been made very homely, and has a selection of garden areas, in line with Jasmine's values and ethos.The home provides personal, nursing and dementia care to 49 residents.

Role Responsibilities as aSeniorCare Assistant
  • Providingthe highest possible levels of care in supporting andassistingour residents in all aspects of daily living.
  • Responsibilityfor promoting our resident's independence with a focus on choice,dignityand respect, alongside promoting their physical and emotional wellbeing and to give input during shift handovers.
  • Leadingyour shift to ensurehigh standardsaremaintained, and other members of the team feel supported.
  • Completingthe daily medication rounds and document consistently without errors or any issues beingpicked up onthe medication audits, ensuring the daily charts are completed to a high standard by all team members on all shiftsyou'llbe responsible forleading.
  • Promotinggood practice in all aspects of care, and challenge poor practise from other team member. ensure one to ones for all care and support team members are done every two months and investigate complaints and concerns as directed by the Home Manager.
Role Requirements as aSeniorCare Assistant
  • Relevant Professional qualification (e.g., Registered Nurse or NVQ minimum level 3).
  • Minimum of two years' experience as a Care Assistant in residential / nursing home setting.
  • Awareness of the principles of Person-Centred Care Planning.
  • Understanding of the prevention of abuse of vulnerable adults, recognition of the signs of abuse and procedures to followin the event ofan allegation of abuse.
  • Residewithin 30 minutes of the Home.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Leadershipand peopleskills.
  • A caring and nurturing attitude.
  • Positive and enthusiastic outlook.
  • Time management skills.
  • Written and oral communication skills
