A leading healthcare provider in New Penshaw is seeking a Senior Care Assistant to deliver compassionate care and support to residents. The role involves personal care planning, team leadership, and daily assistance with activities. Candidates should possess a Level 2 Diploma in Adult Care and be passionate about providing high-quality, person-centred care. As a Senior Care Assistant at HC One, kindness will be at the core of everything you do. You will contribute to Dementia, Nursing, Residential and Specialist care, ensuring residents are treated as individuals with their own stories. You will plan and implement care that gives residents security, dignity and independence, get to know residents and their families to deliver truly personalised care plans, and lead a team of Care Assistants to maintain high standards of care. You will support residents in daily tasks, such as assisting with mobility, meals, and communicating with families, always prioritising kindness. You will work with the Registered Nurse and Care Manager to provide physical and mental stimulation through social and recreational activities and may administer medication.
One of your key responsibilities is to maintain accurate records of your work and build strong relationships with the team.
Ideally, you will have completed a Level 2 Diploma/SNVQ in Adult Care and be prepared to work towards Level 3 qualification in Adult Care or equivalent, with a background in person-centred care planning and dementia care knowledge. What’s essential is a positive energy and ability to get along with people; you will understand good record keeping and manage your time effectively, communicating with residents and co-workers with consideration and kindness.
