Anderson Knight is delighted to be working on a retained basis with an iconic, world-renowned organisation based in Glasgow.

The Senior Building Services Control Manager will lead all technical, engineering and building maintenance operations across a multi-site estate. This senior role provides strategic direction across hard services, asset management, lifecycle planning, compliance and technical project delivery, ensuring safe, reliable, sustainable and cost-effective operations within a high-profile, event-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities
Hard Services & Asset Management
  • Provide strategic leadership across all hard services, including M&E, HVAC, fire & life safety, plumbing, security systems, asbestos management and critical plant.
  • Lead asset lifecycle planning, condition surveys and renewal strategies to ensure long-term resilience and operational continuity.
  • Maintain accurate, compliant asset registers and service histories.
Event Readiness & Operational Support
  • Ensure all systems are fully operational and event-ready for shows, exhibitions and live events.
  • Provide in-event technical support, minimising downtime and disruption.
  • Oversee load-out activities and coordinate building services schedules aligned to event programmes.
Compliance & Health & Safety
  • Act as lead for all statutory hard services compliance, maintaining audit-ready Compliance and Risk Registers.
  • Lead asbestos management in line with policy and UK legislation.
  • Ensure all works comply with H&S legislation, embedding safe systems of work and risk management.
Leadership & Contractor Management
  • Lead and develop Building Services Managers and the wider Facilities & Compliance team.
  • Manage procurement, performance and compliance of specialist contractors.
  • Oversee site access, inductions and permit-to-work systems.
Digital Systems, Reporting & Stakeholder Engagement
  • Lead the implementation and optimisation of the CAFM system and digital reporting.
  • Produce clear monthly reporting aligned to KPIs.
  • Act as a key technical contact for internal and external stakeholders and deputise for the Head of Facilities & Compliance when required.
Sustainability & Innovation
  • Support energy efficiency, carbon reduction and sustainability initiatives.
  • Drive innovation and digital transformation across hard services.
Required Skills & Experience
  • Extensive experience managing hard FM / building services in complex, high-profile or event-based environments.
  • Strong technical knowledge across M&E, HVAC, fire & life safety, asbestos and statutory compliance.
  • Proven leadership of multi-disciplinary teams and contractors.
  • Experience using CAFM systems and digital reporting tools.
  • Sound knowledge of UK legislation and H&S regulations.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Professional qualifications (IWFM, NEBOSH / IOSH or engineering background) desirable.
