You'll be part of a fast-growing, VC-backed team, contributing to the design, development, and deployment of scalable backend systems. This role offers you the chance to work with modern technologies, refine architectures, and deliver high-impact features to customers across the globe. With a culture built on openness, collaboration, and agility, you''ll thrive in a remote-first environment while influencing product direction, mentoring peers, and driving innovation in a multi-billion-dollar industry ripe for disruption.

Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to design, refine, and implement backend features and system architecture.
  • Develop and maintain scalable services using technologies such as Python, Flask, PostgreSQL, Redis, and Kubernetes.
  • Contribute to a service-oriented architecture with gRPC endpoints and Celery for asynchronous workloads.
  • Support continuous deployment pipelines, improve automated testing, monitoring, and observability.
  • Work closely with product teams, challenging assumptions and ensuring user-centric solutions.
  • Create and extend self-service tools for internal users while supporting hands-on technical needs.
  • Share knowledge openly, provide constructive feedback, and step up with leadership qualities when needed.
Requirements

To succeed, you should bring:

  • At least 5 years of relevant backend engineering experience.
  • Strong programming skills in Python and experience with SQL databases, ideally PostgreSQL.
  • Understanding of web application architecture and backend system integrations.
  • Experience with REST APIs, WebSockets, and server-side technologies.
  • Familiarity with Kubernetes, Google Cloud Platform, and service-oriented architectures.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to deliver in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, especially in remote-first teams.
  • Curiosity, a proactive mindset, and a passion for building user-centric solutions.

Nice-to-have: experience in logistics or fintech, hands-on knowledge of Golang or FIX protocol, contributions to documentation best practices, and prior work with AI-assisted development tools.

Benefits
  • Competitive salary with opportunities for growth.
  • Home office budget of €650 for equipment in addition to a company-provided laptop.
  • Unlimited access to co-working spaces worldwide through Desana.
  • 24 paid vacation days plus local bank holidays and special leaves.
  • Bi-annual company offsites and team gatherings to strengthen collaboration and culture.
  • Full IntelliJ PyCharm license (or preferred tools like VS Code or Neovim).
  • Access to cutting-edge AI assistants (Cursor, Claude Code, GitHub Copilot).
  • A global, remote-first culture with regular opportunities to connect in person.
