Role Summary and Impact

EssenceMediacom is seeking a Data & Audience Strategy Senior Associate to join our growing Data, Technology & Analytics team, reporting into the Data Strategy Senior Associate Director. The team focuses on maximising the value and impact of all data types on a client’s business, and how we effectively measure the performance to help make brands become more valuable to the world.

You will be working with one of the leading retailers in the UK to harness their data and improve the performance of their campaigns, developing and deploying media measurement solutions. Communication with client stakeholders and effective management of assigned tasks is critical in this role. You will be joining a team which has doubled in resource over the past 12 months, with an ever-expanding remit to put data at the heart of the marketing function.

Responsibilities
  • Responsible for transforming data into actionable insights that drive superior client outcomes. This role bridges the gap between data science, technology, and business strategy, ensuring that every campaign and client engagement is powered by intelligent data activation, robust analysis, and cutting-edge tech solutions. The Project Lead will optimise audience-driven strategies, identify growth opportunities, and deliver measurable business impact.
  • Partner with internal teams across all functions to learn the most efficient and effective ways to extract value from data and develop a storytelling approach grounded in client business reality and brand objectives.
  • Contribute to Boots/No7 RTB1, building the narrative and providing data insights to support campaign strategy.
  • Contribute to Boots/No7 PCAs, assessing performance and providing targeting recommendations for future campaigns.
Data Science & Tech
  • Familiarity with statistical modelling methods (i.e. linear regression, logistic regression analysis) by working on relevant projects
  • Under supervision improve R or Python coding skills and be the person that makes sure the team follows best practises
  • Work on data infrastructure: build GIT repositories, build BQ Tables and use GCP services to automate processes
  • Work on building AI agents on WPP Open related to our team\'s work
  • Improve programming in SQL – by doing data camp courses once licenses available
A bit about yourself
  • Deep interest in Media & Technology: An understanding of and desire to learn more about data products, technology, and trends within the advertising and marketing industry with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Customer Focus: A relentless focus on client success, with a passion for delivering exceptional client experiences and driving long-term relationships.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Experience managing multiple stakeholders in a matrixed environment
  • Experience working digital agency-side on a data-led role within Data & Tech or Activation, with a strong emphasis on audience-based buying, audience data management and segmentation.
  • Highly developed interpersonal, team building and relationship management skills
  • Knowledge of applying measurement to media campaigns through Meta/Google, particularly brand lift studies
  • Familiarity with SQL
  • Able to follow guidance as part of a cross-functional team, using project management tools such as Jira/Trello/Wrike/Asana
  • Understanding of the importance of privacy first media and what that means for how we need to do things differently
