The Role

This is a fantastic opportunity to work directly with the Corporate Partner and provide experience and guidance to the existing team of 7 as well as support business development activities and the growing of the team’s corporate offering. You will lead and run your own work and transactions while utilising the wider team and support where possible. In addition, you will support the wider team with their matters and transactions as required. This role is intended to support the knowledge and development of junior members of the team and to enable further growth in the team by increasing capacity, and the volume of corporate transactions.

The Day To Day
  • Report to the head of the corporate team and assist with internal management, project management and supervision.
  • Deliver corporate work and transactions to required timescales working with the wider team as required with the ability to delegate to appropriate members of the team or oversee others managing transactions where suitable.
  • Deliver corporate transactions and managing complex projects with little or no supervision being required.
  • The work will also include advising on and supervising restructuring matters, shareholders’ agreements and investor matters, share options, loan arrangements and corporate finance matters, partnership and LLP matters and general company and corporate law and advice.
  • Promote the team's offering as required both internally and externally.
  • Support building the team's networking activities, profile raising and referral network.
  • Support the team building and growing relationships with existing clients and professionals and maximise the opportunities to provide corporate services to the firm’s existing client base.
  • Work with the team on projects and introducing checklists, templates and smart ways of working.
  • Input into the corporate team business plan and support in achieving the agreed objectives.
  • Engage with IT, AI and other technology to ensure that technology is being utilised where possible.
  • Train and share knowledge with others and do team updates.
What Experience Do I Need?
  • 5/10 years PQE and above.
  • Passion for corporate transactional work and developing knowledge in this area of law.
  • Experience including leading corporate transactions, restructuring matters, shareholders’ agreements, corporate finance arrangements, partnership agreements and LLP agreements, share options and other related work.
  • Excellent knowledge of company law and related legislation.
  • Experience managing teams on transactions and projects.
  • Internal management and leadership experience.
  • Supervising others in the delivery of work, transactions, drafting and achieving projects to target deadlines.
  • Implementing team training, procedures and providing technical updates to assist with team know how and reduce risk.
  • Time management and managing projects and all parties and advisors to strict deadlines.
  • A client following or ability to build one would be an advantage, but also suitable for someone more focused on the internal delivery of work, the technical aspects and management of teams and projects internally.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex legal matters clearly and effectively to non-legal business owners, directors and managers.

  • Ability to delegate work that can be dealt with by more junior members of the team and supervise and manage others.
  • Results orientated in ensuring plans are stuck to and achieved with positive outcomes.
