Title: Senior Assistant Manager Payroll/HR Operations, Scotiabank - 12mth Contract

Position & Team Overview/Highlights: To provide an efficient and timely payroll and financial accounting service to the department 29s client base and assist with the HR benefits and general HR Services for the department. The role is based in the UK while supporting the European HR Services & Governance team, serving about 400 employees across UK & Ireland.

What You’ll Do
  • Provide a timely, high standard and efficient payroll service for the European payrolls, with main oversight of Ireland’s payroll and support of UK payroll, along with all associated submissions to the relevant Revenue authorities.
  • Ensure pension and benefit contributions are paid to providers within regulatory timeframes, and charge out to units for employer costs. Serve as the key contact for online member queries and liaise between Payroll Bureau and Plan Administrator.
  • Manage payroll charge-outs and ensure deferred salaries and related benefit costs are charged to the relevant units within the quarter.
  • Ensure timely monthly payments to the Revenue.
  • Prepare and dispatch various tax year-end returns (e.g., P11ds, Class 1a, Annual PAYE Settlement Agreement) and Short-Term Business Visitors reporting, maintaining compliance with Bank/Government procedures.
  • Collate, reconcile, and process taxable expat costs for year-end processes.
  • Contribute to general HR Operations activities as well as some accountancy and finance elements.
What You’ll Bring
  • Experience in payroll and HR Operations/Services within the finance industry.
  • Strong experience with payroll processing in Ireland and UK; multi-jurisdictional experience in APAC is favorable.
  • Attention to detail with excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Excellent customer service skills with the ability to own issues and resolve them.
  • Ability to work well in a team and contribute to overall team effectiveness; share knowledge and best practices with a high level of follow-through.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong PC skills (Word, PowerPoint) and high proficiency in Excel; experience using Excel to produce regular management information data.
  • Experience in the use and design of HR databases.
